About
A 1928 fox-trot by Johnny Green and Carmen Lombardo (lyrics by Gus Kahn), a hit for Guy Lombardo that Django Reinhardt made his own, recording it in London in 1946.
The sound — light, dancing D major in a 32-bar AABA form, with an E7 secondary dominant and a passing F minor giving the changes a graceful chromatic slide.
Practising it — work the D major and its ii–V (Em–A7), then target the E7 that pushes to A. Use the tune's easy form to build clean, melodic phrasing at a swinging medium tempo.
