Every fix and idea below came from a player. Thank you.
Buco
- A published lick now plays the same, current version everywhere, no more old-and-new versions depending on the screen you're on.
- Scales now open reliably from Explore, and playing a scale on the neck got a Stop button, clears its highlight when you switch views, and no longer repeats each note.
- The chord grid now boxes every bar clearly, and the diagonal of a two-chord bar no longer chains across the chart, so the grille is easier to follow.
- The diminished chord, explained the useful way: it sits on the dominant's 3rd (the leading tone that rises to the tonic), the same notes as the ♭9 a half-step above the root.
- The metronome now clicks the way you want: off, the downbeat only, the 2 & 4 backbeat, or every beat.
- Two-minute practice sessions: a timer on one tiny chunk (a lick or a loop), slow tempo, every day, the micro-practice habit.
- Clearer lick states: a lick is Private (only you), then you Publish it to the community; the badge shows where it lives and the button says what it does, no confusing public/private toggle.
- Tap the tune title to open the picker from the top of the page, a shortcut for when you land on a tune from the web, where the eye goes first (it opens the same picker as the bottom strip, so there's just one).
- Mental-practice drills: find a note on a string, and spell an arpeggio from its 3rd or 5th (not the root): train the fretboard map, not the muscle memory.
- A 7 chord's resolution depends on the key: the harmony drill no longer claims a dominant always falls a fifth (a B♭7 in Minor Swing goes to A, not E♭).
- The harmony drill now names the subdominant: the ii and iv chords (like Dm in Minor Swing) read as "Subdominant", their own function, no longer lumped into "colour".
- An icon legend: a "?" in the top bar opens a key to what every symbol means, filtered to the page you're on, so the dense neck and controls are readable from day one.
- Hear it on every arpeggio and chord: a play button on the neck, and in the tune player you can hear the current chord arpeggiated or as a block.
- The default minor grip is now the 6th-string barre (the one players reach for first) ahead of the lighter 5th-string A-shape.
- The minor-major 7 (the Am→AmMaj7→Am7→Am6 move) now has a grippable shape: the major 7th sits on an inner string, not stranded on the high E where the grip was near-impossible.
Jean-Yves
- The “variations” button is now easy to spot, a colourful chip right next to the chord instead of a faint link below it.
- Alt-chords: tap “variations” on any chord to see the manouche moves you can play instead, the minor line (m → m△7 → m7 → m6), ♭9/dim on dominants, 6 / 6-9 on majors. Pick one and it shows in the rail (the grille stays untouched).
- Minor chords stay plain by default: the grille reads “Am” and shows a plain minor grip; the m6 (the predominant manouche colour) is the minor line's target in Variations, one tap away, never forced.
- Chord grips now default to the accompanist voicing (root in the bass on a low string) instead of a higher soloist shape, with an optional “5th in the bass” fuller grip.
- Chords now follow the reference grilles exactly (Minor Swing fixed, incl. the Bb7), enrich them your own way.
Aurélien
- Secondary pages (like the roadmap) are no longer a dead-end on mobile, a Back arrow now returns you to the tunes.
- Notes now play the real recorded guitar everywhere, the thin synth fallback is gone.
- The backing voice-leads its bass now: a Dm no longer drops below an Am; chord roots move by small steps instead of jumping an octave.
Tim
- Diminished chords now correctly labelled: “Diminished 7”, with the top note as °7 (not 6).
- 6/9 & dominant-9 chords now label the added note as the 9th (not a 2nd).
BillDaCostaWilliams
- The key picker now shows the mode for minor tunes: Anouman reads “Dm” and Autumn Leaves “Em”, instead of a bare “D”/“G” that looked like a major key.
Wim
- Augmented-7 arpeggios now spell their altered fifth as ♯5 (the augmented fifth), not ♭6, the right degree name for a 7♯5 chord.
Pascal
- Chord-diagram dots can now show note names (A C E) instead of interval labels (R ♭3 5), or nothing, a toggle, so beginners aren't stuck decoding intervals.
lorenzop
- Backing mix fixed: the bass no longer overpowers the rhythm guitar (it sat too loud on some systems).
littlemark
- The synth backing is now a clean straight rhythm: its ghost up-stroke read as a delay artefact, so it's gone by default (a steadier reference to play over).
Dennis
- Backing audio fixed on Safari.
Sancho
- First Ko-fi tip landed: a free tool got its first voluntary supporter, that means a lot.
